Kollywood star and son-in-law of Rajnikanth, Dhanush has begun his journey towards Hollywood. The 33-year-old actor has begun work on his debut Hollywood film, ‘The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir in Mumbai’.
The pictures from the sets were shared on twitter on Tuesday.
“The book was a huge success. It was sold in 36 countries The film is based on Romain Puertolas’ bestselling novel ‘The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe.” The movie is scheduled to be filmed in Mumbai, Paris, Brussels and Rome. The book itself is a globe-trotting comedic adventure and was sold in 36 countries across the world.
Acclaimed French filmmaker/graphic novelist, Marjane Satrapi was initially slated to direct the film. But has been replaced by Ken Scott, who in an interview said: “What’s great is I get to work with a great actor, Dhanush, who is a huge star in India, he’s a great actor, but also a great dancer, a great singer, he has a very unique way of dancing and moving, he’s just very charming,” he said.
International acclaimed starts Berenice Bejo, Barkhad Abdi, Erin Moriarty, Seema Biswas and Laurent Lafitte are part of the film. According to initial reports of said that Uma Thurman would also start, but the film’s IMDb page does not mention her.
The release date of the film has not been announced yet.
