Two ATM Burglars were arrested by the police on Tuesday. Police say that the two men are in custody as they were caught while trying to burglarize a Houston bank on early Tuesday.
Lt. Larry Crowson said that, shortly after the midnight, Houston police responded to a burglar alarm at a Chase bank in the west Houston, 9800 block of Westheimer.
Though the burglars had left already, the officers found a broken window and signs of an attempt to open the ATM.
About two hours later, shortly before 2:30 a.m., a burglar alarm went off at another Chase bank, this time in northwest Houston in the 3300 block of Shepherd, the lieutenant said. Officers found another broken window -- but this time it seemed the burglars were still inside.
The police set up a perimeter around the building. Crowson said that, the two men surrendered themselves to the police. The names and ages of the burglars have not been released yet by the police.
Canine units searched the whole bank, where police found evidence that the burglars had tried to pry open that location's ATM as well.
Police suspect that the two burglaries are related.
